Village of Edmore Cleanup Guidelines Fall 2024

The Village’s semi-annual cleanup is here! This is a bulk trash pickup service offered to the residents of Edmore.

Please take this opportunity to go through your property and get things organized by getting rid of those extra bulk items that you may have.

Granger will begin picking up at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday October 12th and will only stop once at each residence. Each residence is allowed to dispose of 9 cubic yards of waste. No tags or mattress bags are required.

ACCEPTABLE ITEMS:
  • Furniture
  • Appliances—If appliances once contained Freon, they must be certified that Freon was properly removed.
  • Scrap metal
  • Lumber and other long materials cut into lengths of 4’ or less
  • Small amounts of remodeling waste
  • Carpet (dry) – no longer than 4 feet and no more than 12 inches in diameter
  • Motorized equipment (snowblowers, lawn mowers, etc.) gasoline, oil, and any other liquids must be removed
  • Discarded general household items (clothes, toys, bicycles, etc.)
  • Latex paint must be solidified and lid off
  • Televisions
MATERIAL MUST BE PREPARED PROPERLY:
  • All loose material must be in containers. No shoveling of pickup beds allowed
  • Material must be of appropriate size to fit inside the hopper of a garbage truck
  • All liquids must be removed.
  • All containers (pails, drums, etc.) must be unsealed and open for inspection.
  • All material must be loaded by hand, no commercial or dumping trailers allowed. Granger staff will assist.
ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED:
  • Yard waste
  • Liquids of any kind
  • Oil based paint, stain varnish
  • Appliances containing Freon
  • Concrete or other masonry materials
  • Dirt, rocks, and ash
  • Tires
  • Lead acid automotive batteries
  • Any liquid or hazardous material
  • Any container with a hazardous waste label
  • Fluorescent light fixtures
  • Flammable or explosive material such as ammunition and firearms
  • Propane tanks and compressed gas cylinders unless valve is removed
  • Sharps and needles, unless packaged in sharps container
  • Medical waste
  • Construction, demolition or roofing material
  • Asbestos
  • Animal carcasses
  • Ignitable, corrosive, reactive or toxic materials
  • Commercial waste
  • Lithium-ion batteries
  • Sewage and septic waste
  • Hot tubs, pool tables, pianos
  • Furniture with an infestation

The Date for this year’s spring clean-up is Saturday, April 20, 2024. The trucks will begin curb side service at 7:00am. They will only make one pass through the entire village so be sure to have your items curbside by 6:00am.

A list of Items Accepted and those Not Accepted are listed below

  • Scrap metal
