Village Office Software Maintenance Closures

Hello all,

This letter is to inform you of future closures of the Village of Edmore office. We are currently in the process of transitioning to a new utility billing and financial software that will encumber large blocks of time periodically.

Not every date has been scheduled yet, so please bear with us as we are doing our very best to navigate this situation and provide you all with the greatest amount of notice possible.

Our best guess right now is that we may have approximately 20 hours or more per month that will require all of our attention, the first of those dates being the 20th and 21st of August. On the 20th we will be closed for the entire day, and on the 21st we will be open to the public from 2:00PM to 5:00PM.

As more dates are scheduled and become available to us we will be posting them on the Curtis Community Building sign, our website www.edmore.com, and to our Facebook.

Utility bills still may be paid online at our website or by utilizing the dropbox or mailbox. We will be available by phone in case of any emergencies on these dates.

Notice is hereby given that the Edmore Village Council will hold a meeting and public hearing at 7:00pm Monday, June 8th , 2026 at the Curtis Community Building, 209 S. Sheldon, Edmore, Ml 48829 to take public comment on the following:

  1. Adoption of Blight Elimination Ordinancei enforced by Montcalm County Sheriff’s Department.
  2. Amending Ordinance No. 222-70, Trailer/Trailer Parks Ordinance to be named Trailer, Trailer Parks, and Camping Ordinance – which will include regulations on camping in Village limits.

All interested persons are invited to attend said hearing and be heard. Additional information may be obtained from Edmore Village Office, 209 S. Sheldon Street, Edmore, Ml 48829, during regular business hours – 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday.

VILLAGE OF EDMORE NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING 

FOR MICHIGAN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDING FOR HOMEOWNER-OCCUPIED REHABILITATION PROGRAM 

The Village of Edmore Village Council will conduct a public hearing on May 11, 2026 at 7:00pm at the Curtis Community Building, 209 S. Sheldon St, Edmore, MI 48829 for the purpose of affording citizens an opportunity to examine and submit comments on the proposed application for a CDBG grant. 

The Village of Edmore proposes to use CDBG grant funds in the amount of up to $250,000 for for home repair assistance for qualified Edmore residents and properties. 100% of homes will be occupied by low- or moderate-income households. All activities, upon completion, will benefit low- to moderate- income households. Zero persons will be displaced as a result of the proposed activities and no persons are expected to be displaced. 

Further information, including a copy of the Village of Edmore ‘s community development plan and CDBG application is available for review. To inspect the documents, please contact Cory Hamlin, Village Manager at (989) 427-5641 or review at 209 S. Sheldon St, Edmore, MI 48829. Comments may be submitted in writing through 4:00pm on the date of the public hearing or made in person at the public hearing.

Spring Clean-up 2026

Granger will begin at 7:00am and only stop once per residence please do not place items at curb before April 11th, Details in Newsletter.

ITEMS ACCEPTED:

  • Furniture
  • Appliances – if appliances once contained Freon, they must be certified that Freon was properly removed.
  • Scrap metal
  • Small amounts of lumber and other long materials cut into lengths 4’ or less
  • Small amounts of carpet (dry) – no longer than 4 feet and no more than 12 inches in diameter
  • Motorized equipment (snowblowers, lawn mowers, etc) gasoline, oil and any other liquids must be removed
  • Discarded general household items (clothes, toys, bicycles, etc). Please bag or box items like clothes.
  • Latex paint must be solidified and lid off for inspection
  • Televisions

MATERIAL MUST BE PREPARED PROPERLY:

  • All loose material must be in containers. No shoveling of pickup beds allowed
  • Material must be of appropriate size to fit inside the hopper of a garbage truck
  • All liquids must be removed.
  • All containers (pails, drums, etc.) must be unsealed and open for inspection.
  • All material must be loaded by hand, no commercial or dumping trailers allowed.

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED:

  • Yard waste
  • Liquids of any kind
  • Oil based paint, stain varnish
  • Appliances containing Freon
  • Concrete or other masonry materials
  • Dirt, rocks, and ash
  • Tires
  • Lead acid automotive batteries
  • Any liquid or hazardous material
  • Any container with a hazardous waste label
  • Fluorescent light fixtures
  • Flammable or explosive material such as ammunition and firearms
  • Propane tanks and compressed gas cylinders, unless valve is removed
  • Sharps and needles, unless packaged in sharps container
  • Medical waste
  • Construction, demolition or roofing material
  • Asbestos
  • Animal carcasses
  • Ignitable, corrosive, reactive or toxic materials
  • Commercial waste
  • Lithium-ion batteries
  • Sewage and septic waste
  • Hot tubs, pool tables, pianos, gun safes
  • Furniture with an infestation

GRANGER WASTE SERVICES RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY MATERIAL NOT SUITABLE FOR DISPOSAL DUE TO SIZE, WEIGHT OR TYPE OF MATERIAL.
