Notice of Budget Hearing
VILLAGE OF EDMORE COUNTY OF MONTCALM, MICHIGAN NOTICE OF BUDGET HEARING MONDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2024 7:00 PM
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, in accordance with Michigan Compiled Laws 15.261-15.275 and 141.411-141.415, that the VILLAGE OF EDMORE will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on Monday, February 12, 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Curtis Community Building, 209 South Sheldon Street, Edmore, Michigan. The purpose of this public hearing is to hear public comment on the proposed budget for the Fiscal year 2024-2025. The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing. Citizens attending this hearing have the right to provide written and oral comments regarding the proposed budget. A copy of the entire proposed budget is available for public inspection after January 29, 2024, during regular business hours at the Edmore Village Office, 209 South Sheldon Street, Edmore, Michigan.
Written correspondence may be addressed to: The Village of Edmore, Box 170, Edmore, MI 48829. This notice is given in compliance with Act No. 267 of the Public Acts of Michigan, 1976. Special accommodations for persons with handicapping conditions who plan to attend the meeting will be provided if such persons will contact the Village of Edmore office at 989-427-5641 in advance of the meeting.
Village of Edmore Cleanup Guidelines Fall 2023
The Date for this year’s fall clean-up is Saturday, October 14, 2023. The trucks will begin curb side service at 7:00am. They will only make one pass through the entire village so be sure to have your items curbside by 7:00am.
Please do not place items for pick-up near the curb until the week of the Saturday pick-up.
A list of Items Accepted and those Not Accepted are listed below
ITEMS ACCEPTED:
- Furniture
- Appliances If appliances once contained Freon, they must be certified that Freon was properly removed
- Scrap metal
- Lumber and other long materials cut into lengths 4’ or less
- Small amounts of remodeling waste
- Carpet (dry) – no longer than 4 feet and no more than 12 inches in diameter
- Motorized equipment (snowblowers, lawn mowers, etc) gasoline, oil and any other liquids must be removed
- Discarded general household items (clothes, toys, bicycles, etc)
- Latex paint must be solidified and lid off for inspection
- Televisions
MATERIAL MUST BE PREPARED PROPERLY:
- All loose material must be in containers. No shoveling of pickup beds allowed
- Material must be of appropriate size to fit inside the hopper of a garbage truck
- All liquids must be removed
- All containers (pails, drums, etc.) must be unsealed and open for inspection
- All material must be loaded by hand, no commercial or dumping trailers allowed
- Granger Associates will assist in loading, following accepted safety guidelines
ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED:
- Yard waste
- Liquids of any kind
- Oil based paint, stain varnish
- Appliances containing Freon
- Concrete or other masonry materials
- Dirt, rocks, and ash
- Tires
- Lead acid automotive batteries
- Any liquid or hazardous material
- Any container with a hazardous waste label
- Fluorescent light fixtures
- Flammable or explosive material such as ammunition and firearms
- Propane tanks and compressed gas cylinders
- Sharps and needles, unless packaged in sharps container
- Medical waste
- Commercial construction, demolition or roofing material
- Asbestos
- Animal carcasses
- Ignitable, corrosive, reactive or toxic materials
- Commercial waste
- Lithium-ion batteries
- Sewage and septic waste
- Hot tubs, pool tables, pianos
- Furniture with an infestation
GRANGER WASTE SERVICES RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY MATERIAL NOT SUITABLE FOR DISPOSAL DUE TO SIZE, WEIGHT OR TYPE OF MATERIAL.
