Notice of Planning Commission Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Village of Edmore Planning Commission will hold a meeting and public hearing at 12:00pm on Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Curtis Community Building, 209 S. Sheldon, Edmore, MI 48829 to take public comment on the following:

  1. Amending SECTION 9.02 of the Zoning Ordinance to include “Offices; Professional and Business (may include display and/or retail, wholesale of goods, and medical clinics except veterinary clinics).
  2. Amending the Zoning Ordinance B2 zoning district to include 300 W. Main St., parcel number 041-210-013-01, and 208 W. Main, parcel number 041-210-005-10
  3. Rezoning request to amend the B2 zoning district to include 500 W. Home Street, parcel number 041-210-013-10.

 

All interested persons are invited to attend said hearing and be heard. Additional information may be obtained from Edmore Village Office, 209 S. Sheldon Street, Edmore, MI 48829, during regular business hours –  9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday.

 

If you are unable to attend, written correspondence may be addressed to: The Village of Edmore, Box 170, Edmore, MI 48829. This notice is given in compliance with Act No. 267 of the Public Acts of Michigan, 1976.

Christmas Decoration Competition Map/Ballot

The Village of Edmore will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as hand signers for the hearing impaired, audio recordings of printed material being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities at the meeting (and/or hearing) upon 3 working days notice to the Village of Edmore. Individuals with disabilities requiring auxiliary aids or services should contact the Village of Edmore and leave a message which includes (1) who you are/how to contact you, (2) what meeting you wish to attend, (3) what aid you are requesting.

Village of Edmore Cleanup Guidelines

ITEMS ACCEPTED:

  • Furniture
  • Appliances If appliances once contained Freon, they must be certified that Freon was properly removed.
  • Scrap metal
  • Lumber and other long materials cut into lengths 4’ or less
  • Small amounts of remodeling waste
  • Carpet (dry) – no longer than 4 feet and no more than 12 inches in diameter
  • Motorized equipment (snowblowers, lawn mowers, etc) gasoline, oil and any other liquids must be removed
  • Discarded general household items (clothes, toys, bicycles, etc)
  • Latex paint must be solidified
  • Televisions
  • Tires cut in half

MATERIAL MUST BE PREPARED PROPERLY:

  • All loose material must be in containers. No shoveling of pickup beds allowed
  • Material must be of appropriate size to fit inside the hopper of a garbage truck
  • All liquids must be removed.
  • All containers (pails, drums, etc.) must be unsealed and open for inspection.
  • All material must be loaded by hand, no commercial or dumping trailers allowed.

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED:

  • Yard waste
  • Liquids of any kind
  • Oil based paint, stain varnish
  • Appliances containing Freon
  • Concrete or other masonry materials
  • Dirt, rocks, and ash
  • Tires on rims or whole tires
  • Lead acid automotive batteries
  • Any liquid or hazardous material
  • Any container with a hazardous waste label
  • Fluorescent light fixtures
  • Flammable or explosive material such as ammunition and firearms
  • Propane tanks and compressed gas cylinders
  • Sharps and needles, unless packaged in sharps container
  • Medical waste
  • Commercial construction, demolition or roofing material
  • Asbestos
  • Animal carcasses
  • Ignitable, corrosive, reactive or toxic materials
  • Commercial waste
  • Lithium-ion batteries
  • Sewage and septic waste

GRANGER WASTE SERVICES RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY MATERIAL NOT SUITABLE FOR DISPOSAL DUE TO SIZE, WEIGHT OR TYPE OF MATERIAL.

September Brush Chipping Extended Due to Storm

Due to the storms on September 7th the DPW will be conducting brush chipping throughout the day on September 9th and 10th. If you have down tree branches, that are 8” or smaller, please pull them to the road for the DPW to chip.
